how contradicting it is. the suckiest job i've ever had, i actually managed to survive for the longest period of time. was it my lunch kakis that actually made me perservere till now? i really dunno.
but after a being called in for a very shallow talk with my boss, i really had it. if not for the bonus, i would have given her my resignation letter on that very day. crap! these people just treat the "youngest" people like robot, and dirt. and not only that, they have low EQ and so blinded by what others said.. and i did so much just to get such comments, not worth it. unappreciative and shallow people, burnt in hell.
just waiting for the day to come.. 60 days to go and i'll leave this horrible nazi "school" i've ever been in. i think even a cleaner or cashier job would be treated better than any of us right now..
“Does God give suffering?” Is suffering a gift, or is it perhaps our eventual transformation that is the true gift?
The scriptures give the example of the seed that must fall to the ground and die, in order to spring forth as grain-bearing wheat, and of gold which must be heated in a crucible over fire, until all impurities are burned away. The new grains of wheat in turn will be ground to become flour, and oven-baked into bread, while the gold is hammered or moulded into a precious object of lasting beauty.
The experience of suffering can turn people into angry, bitter and twisted individuals who are sure that God and all the world are against them. Alternatively, the experience of suffering can help us to grow into an acceptance of a world that is bigger than ourselves. It can help us develop compassion, which is an understanding and empathy for others who suffer.
Suffering can be a process of our transformation into all that God has called us to be. God has a special mission for each of us, but all too often we resist. Hence we suffer in the imperfection and tensions of our human condition, in the process of our battle to cling on to what we desire, in our refusal to let go of our way of doing things, and in the hurt and pain we cause each other.
Suffering is not a good in itself. At Gethsemane, Jesus himself prayed to the Father: “If it is possible, let this cup pass away from me. Yet, not as I will but as you will.”
When we are open to giving up our own will and participating in God’s will instead, suffering can lead us through death to ourselves and into an experience of the life of Resurrection, where sin and death have no more power over us. Therein, my friend, is the experience of Eternal Life, which is God’s real gift to us.
“Is there work in Heaven?” We would do well to look toward the Little Flower who declared towards the end of her life, in her physically incapacitated state:
“I have discovered my vocation. My vocation is to love!”
As followers of Christ, our work should ultimately be to do the will of the Father, which simply is to love. Our life’s mission is to live out that love – so that we move from place to state, from work to mission, from doing to being, from dichotomy to union.
We are created for participation in the Fullness of Love. God, who is Love, moves us from doing loving actions to being united with him and with all whom he has created. That’s Eternal Life.
Heaven is a state, rather than a place. It’s a state where we live out the fullness of all that God has called us to be. It’s not the end of life’s work, but rather, the fullness of our life’s mission!
“How do I know when I have moved from ‘doing’ love to ‘being’ love?” That, my friend, is the movement to the mystical! It is the journey from intellectual knowledge to true wisdom. Remember the only one thing that can pierce through the Cloud of Unknowing ….
About 500 years before the time of St Thérèse, an unknown author wrote this classic book on how the soul yearns to be one with God. Yet, a ‘Cloud of Unknowing’ separates God from humanity. Our human knowledge and our human understanding strives for this vision, but fails to see beyond this shield.
Ultimately, our journey is accomplished neither through the eyes of knowledge, nor through the heroism of our deeds, but through a deep love that can see through all that otherwise blinds us to ultimate realities. Love alone is the arrow that can pierce through the Cloud of Unknowing.

have always wanted to go there for a long time and finally made it!! its really beautiful! well, it feels as if its somewhere outta singapore. A place where you can find peace. the Friar beside me has sucha nice voice (i fell in love with it), so he'll be next in line after Fr. Luke Fong. (hehehe) aywy, had a fruitful day with marge.. lotsa walking, bonding session and got myself a nice belt~ shopping session some time k!!
feeling good cos i've finally booked my tics to laos! (1 down!) met up with jiayi, thip & mike for a quick dinner n chill - well more like us (jiayi & me) booking our tics and then after that made a short discussion on our trip.. i know this time its gonna be more fun, cos there's no restriction from teachers. woohoo!
current itinerary is to cover as much places as we can - vientiene ( to celebrate xmas & yr end), luang prabang (world's hertiage pl - must go!), vang vieng (organic farm & tubing?), and nankao (thai border for shopping!).. n i heard vientiene has 2 shopping malls now! haha, cant wait to check it out. not gonna do a detailed itinerary as like previous trips cos she's planning for us (and i intend to leave it to her, really really free and easy this time round), but will be definitely reading up more stuff after my exams!!
hmm, there's news of a possible retrenchment at the year end but i think i'm pretty much in hope and have this gut feeling that i'll be leaving after this coming year end? dunno how, but somewhere, somehow i think it will happen, maybe with the help of the company.
everyone's busy at work now with the buying season and the moving of the new office.. lotsa packing to be done and not enough leave to take! well, i think i'll prolly needa start doing some serious thinking on where i wanna head in future since this industry is dying down much faster than i thought.
but that will come after my last year of travelling overseas during the year end. and yes, my last one..(never expect it to be so short-lived) no more countdown outside Singapore~ =( will definitely hope to resume it after i grad!
okie, hopefully able to start a monthly meetup somehow (been saying it for years). miss bitching about my life with you guys!! haha.
finally managed to grab hold of the many donkey years pic we took at the zoo~ where's tt nice pic where the zoo keeper took the pic of us with the dog?! its not inside.....!!!!!
no, its not this pic with the dog!
i love this pic~ seriously does anyone really remember the exact year we went?
ok, after days of being in the stress mode.. i need my bed soon! like for the next few days! i think i've not been so stressed (with sch) for sucha long time already and this is only the start of it.. could hardly be in the mood for anything because i could not find any direction for my proj. but thanks to help and guidance.. i managed to do up something~ (sheesh, feeling loads of hardwork needa be given for untalented kids.)
4 assignments' draft are somewhat done up now, except for one.. i'm feeling relieved, screwed and tired! hopefully in future will be able to handle such stress from proj. i'm getting the bed call now.. ciao guys!
okie, finished listening to his album (some of the songs are not too bad la) which is kinda disappointing cos the first album was definitely much better! maybe expected too much, afterall.. how many singers can have all songs in their album sounding good? aywy, his first album was great..all songs r good. listen to it when you have the time~
got a 2days mc to rest at home and i slept the whole day today.. my defences for illness has finally succumb to the environment. (a really long 2hrs wait at the clinic that i nearly finished my thick mag.) blocked nose, cough, dry throat..
had a short dinner with my uni friends yesterday and tried the bugis junction - shoduko. the one opposite adidas. they have nice tofu cheese cake there and another nice dessert - green tea/red bean ice kacang which i dunno what is it called. basically a similar concept of MOF. not super fantastic but pricing are pretty reasonable, no pics for this as no one brought cam! =X but food presentation was good tho.
Curtin's coming to sg! and thanks to the new campus, my course fees are increasing.. much higher. guess i can only look forward to having better facilities. tsk tsk.
gotta see cute natasha on sunday (thanks to jill & min). she's just so adorable, outspoken & polite. not to forget SWEEEET. yea, another "official" member to our blading group - rizzy made us luff real hard at the underpass while he performed some "spectacular" stunts for us. =)
my whole afternoon was burnt for proj discussion (again) but this time, slightly more productive.. was treated by nice music at ah mei's concert. yupzz, a worthwhile concert! 3 hours of "highn-ess", she's really a powerhouse. i would say comparable to mayday! in fact better than the last mayday concert that i went. *thumbs up*
was a good short dinner catching up with e2 peeps, hazel & jill..!
feeling way backdated with my blog.. havent been updating as often as i used to. seriously speaking, i think i will have to take the next trimester as a slower pace and not risk it by taking more than i can cope. currently i've got 1 group assignment and 4 individual assignments to be handed up on 16oct, i hope and i will survive by then~ (i know i will!!)
hopefully able to do up something soon. *headache*
alright, only achievement right now is a cleaner room for mugging of exams soon!! jiayou~
